    Where does Cleveland rank among the best foodie cities in America?

    The term ‘foodie’ has been around since the 80s, but you may have a hard time explaining that to your TikTok and Instagram celebrity friends. Scrolling through your smartphone may have you convinced that only the finest local eateries would qualify for such a prestigious term, but that’s not always the case.

    Any person with a keen interest in food, whether cooking or eating it, can be considered a foodie. The restaurant scene in Northeast Ohio is immaculate, which makes it easy for foodies to thrive here.

    And, it’s not just us. America is ripe with ‘foodie’ cities. From coast to coast, each region has its own special offerings and local faves.

    In a recent list put together by WalletHub , the top foodie cities in America were ranked. Using a combination of 28 “key indicators”, they examined varying factors in 180 U.S. cities.

    Where do you think Cleveland ended up on the list?


    The #1 ranked foodie city in America is Miami, Florida. While their Affordability rank was not very good (#145), their Diversity, Accessibility, and Quality rank was #1.

    Following Miami were San Francisco (#2), Orlando (#3), Portland (#4) and Tampa (#5).

    Ohio Ranks

    So where does Ohio rank in terms of the best foodie cities in America?

    The highest-ranked city in Ohio was Cincinnati (#22). Cleveland came in at #50, while being #70 in Affordability and #52 in Diversity, Accessibility, and Quality.

    The only other Ohio cities to make the list were Toledo (#97) and Akron (#147).
