MAZOMANIE — Senior Tyler Dahlie hit the game-winning goal in the 71st minute off senior Easton Wolfram’s assist as Lakeside Lutheran’s boys soccer team staved off Wisconsin Heights/Barneveld 3-2 in Capitol Conference action on Tuesday, Sept. 24.

The visiting Warriors took a 2-0 lead after Wolfram scored in the 24th minute and sophomore Jeremiah Koester netted a 36th minute score. Senior Reilly Jobke assisted on both goals.

After the Vanguards’ Eli Nicholes (50th minute) and Tucker Acker (70th minute) scored to make it 2-all, Dahlie quickly produced the game-deciding goal.

Senior goalie Joah Robinson stopped eight shots for Lakeside (5-4-1, 2-1-0 in conference).

“The guys looked a little heavy on their feet after playing a lot of soccer over the weekend,” Lakeside Lutheran assistant boys soccer coach Phil Dretske said. “I feel we controlled the tempo of the game very well in the first half, but lost that connection for portions of the second half.

“We were able to come away with the win due to some great goalkeeping by Joah Robinson. We look to come out stronger on Thursday when we face off against Lake Mills on the road.”
