Browns Star Nick Chubb Breaks Silence Amid Talk of Return

The Cleveland Browns are in dire need of a boost after a tough 1-3 start to the season, but there's light at the end of the tunnel with Nick Chubb making strides toward a return.

Chubb is expected to return to practice on Wednesday after missing more than a year with a knee injury. He went down in Week 2 of last season after taking a hit against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The replay was too gruesome to be replayed on the broadcast.

Chubb had major reconstruction surgery on his knee that required a pair of surgeries to repair his ACL, MCL, meniscus and medial capsule.

"He’s working very hard,” Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski said on Monday. “Natural progression is for him to start practicing, and he’s ready to do that. And then we’ll see how he goes from there."

The four-time Pro Bowler, known for keeping a low profile on social media, posted a single image to signal his return: two Browns helmets side by side. No words needed — just a clear sign that he’s getting ready for his return.

The Browns have 21 days to add Chubb to the active roster after he starts practicing. It appears unlikely he'll return this week to face the Washington Commanders but could be in the mix for critical matchups against the Philadelphia Eagles and Cincinnati Bengals.

When healthy, Chubb is one of the best running backs in the league. He's rushed for 6,511 yards in 77 career games and has 52 total touchdowns.
