The Boys from Oklahoma are BACK. Formed in Stillwater, Oklahoma in the mid-90s, Cross Canadian Ragweed became a cornerstone of the Red Dirt movement before calling it quits in 2010, with Cody Canada and Jeremy Plato going on to form Cody Canada and the Departed. But a couple weeks back, Cross Canadian Ragweed updated their Facebook page for the first time since 2011, sending fans into an immediate frenzy. Then, they updated their website to feature a 2025 landing page, and changed the cover photo on their social media pages. And yesterday, Ragweed had fans on the edge of their seat with what appeared to be one last teaser, asking "Who's down?"
The band has clearly been teasing SOMETHING. And now we know what they have up their sleeve. Today, the legendary band announced their first show since 2010, and they're headed back to the place where it all started. As first reported by Rolling Stone , "The Boys From Oklahoma," a one night only show featuring Cross Canadian Ragweed and Turnpike Troubadours, will be held at Boone Pickens Stadium at Oklahoma State University on April 12, 2025, and will also feature The Great Divide, Stoney LaRue, and Jason Boland & the Stragglers. The show is a throwback of sorts to some of the legendary Oklahoma State Calf Fry festivals that these acts played back in the day, so naturally Stillwater is going to be a wild scene when Ragweed finally takes the stage again. Speaking on the reunion, Cody Canada expressed his excitement at finally getting the band back together in the city that launched their career:
“I can’t wait to do this. I want to make people happy, and I want people to walk away feeling like it was 15 years ago...

It’s gonna be a rush. I can’t wait to play it.”

And as it turns out, it was the trailer for the movie Deadpool 3 that may have pushed Canada over the edge and convinced him to give a Ragweed reunion a shot: “I had been watching the trailer for Deadpool & Wolverine and thinking, ‘Look at them out there making everybody happy.’ Why don’t we do that? Let’s make everybody happy. Let’s make our parents happy. Let’s make our kids happy. And let’s be happy. And let’s do it in Stillwater, because I’ve said it a hundred times, if it wasn’t for Stillwater, I wouldn’t have anything.”
Gonna make a lot of people happy. You can find more information on the show at www.theboysfromoklahoma.com , where you can also register for your presale code so you can be the first to get tickets to see Ragweed in 15 years. Presale for the show starts on October 7, and the public onsale will get underway on October 11. https://img.particlenews.com/image.php?url=2YqS0N_0vqAwe4g00 As far as a full-scale reunion, Canada says he's still focused on Cody Canada & the Departed, so as of right now this is the only show Ragweed has on the books. But he also didn't rule it out if it's something fans want. With fans waiting all these years, and begging for the legendary Red Dirt band to finally make their return, you've gotta think this is going to be a can't-miss show. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Il7Fy64WG_k
