Media day for the Los Angeles Lakers on Monday had a surreal moment when LeBron James and Bronny James sat down together for an interview.

For years, LeBron James talked about playing with his sons one day. He and Bronny James already made history by being the first-ever active father-and-son duo in the NBA.

While it remains to be seen if Lakers coach JJ Redick will field them together, the James' have been going at each other in training camp. Lakers general manager Rob Pelinka recently shared that LeBron James scored on his son during a scrimmage.

The 39-year-old legend later talked about it on his Instagram Story , saying, "great defense but better offense."

During their interview with Spectrum SportsNet , the 19-year-old Bronny James addressed his father's trash talk.

"In all seriousness, I looked at the film, he did step out of bounds," said the rookie guard. "But I'm not gonna go there right now."

"What do you mean you won't go there?" LeBron replied. "You just went there!"

Their good-natured back-and-forth didn't end there, as Bronny James, who was selected No. 55 overall by the Lakers, responded to his dad's claim about stopping him during an out-of-bounds play.

"That was a foul too, he slapped my whole arm," said Bronny James with a smile. "But I'm not gonna get that call right now."

All the cheerful banter aside, there will be serious work up ahead for the University of Southern California product. He wants to prove to everyone that he deserves his spot on the squad.

LeBron James, for his part, will be walking on a tightrope as he tries to balance his concurrent role as father and teammate, especially since he can be a demanding leader.

The Lakers will start their preseason calendar against the Phoenix Suns on Saturday.
