Northern California is bracing for an unusually hot start to October, with temperatures soaring across inland areas, particularly in Lake and Mendocino Counties. The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory, warning residents of elevated fire risks due to the combination of high heat and dry conditions.

The advisory is in effect for the next few days, with temperatures expected to ease by Thursday as a Pacific Northwest trough weakens the ridge of high pressure. Coastal regions, including Crescent City, may see breezy conditions by midweek, while inland areas remain dry and hot.
