    Grand Rapids man injured after accident in La Prairie

    A Grand Rapids man has life-threatening injuries after a pedestrian vs. vehicle accident Sunday night.

    According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the crash happened around 8:25 p.m. on Highway 2 and Fraser Street in La Prairie, which is just outside Grand Rapids.

    The Minnesota State Patrol says a Volkswagen Tiguan was traveling westbound. Report says a pedestrian, a 41-year-old Grand Rapids man, was in the center turn lane and hit the front of the car.

    The Volkswagen Tiguan was driven by a 33-year-old woman from North Dakota. She and her 5-year-old passenger were not hurt according to reports.

    Multiple agencies responded including the Itasca County Sheriff’s Office, Grand Rapids Police, Grand Rapids Fire, and North Memorial Ambulance.

    The driver of the SUV and her 5-year-old passenger were not seriously hurt.

    The crash is still under investigation.
