    The Mokara Hotel & Spa is San Antonio’s only Forbes four-star hotel. Its location right on the San Antonio River Walk means that it is just a short walk from local attractions, such as The Alamo and Tower of the Americas. Like many of the hotels on this list, the Mokara offers comfortable rooms and tasty dining options, but the spa is what really sets it apart.

    Mokara Spa spans 17,000 square feet. At this tranquil oasis, guests can indulge in the dry cedar sauna, eucalyptus-infused steam room, and whirlpool. Afterward, choose from a number of experiences, from massages and body treatments to facials and pedicures. Additionally, guests have access to the rooftop pool with views of downtown, as well as the fitness center.

    Hotel Emma offers a variety of luxury hotel rooms and accommodations. Stay in the original Brewhouse Tower or the more contemporary River Cellars. No matter what you choose, you’ll be delighted by the designs that contrast industrial history with South Texas’s nuance. Furthermore, there is no shortage of options for dining and drinks. Sternewirth, the hotel’s tavern and club room, is a must-visit with its 25-foot high vaulted ceilings and history dating back to 1883.

    While the St. Anthony Hotel offers some reasonably priced rooms, the hotel’s largest suites come with jaw-dropping price tags. If you choose accommodations such as the 3-bedroom Presidential Suite, expect to spend a pretty penny. The John Wayne Suite, which pays homage to one of America’s favorite movie stars, features a beautiful marble bar. Elite Traveler estimates the price per night in this room to be around $2,400.
