Lincoln Park hot dog stand targeted by burglars for second time in 2 weeks

(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — A popular hot dog stand in Lincoln Park has been targeted multiple times by burglars.

A window was shattered at The Wiener's Circle on Clark Street near Diversey, more than an hour and a half after closing early Monday morning.

Police say around 3:45 a.m., a group of at least three broke the glass door and made off with a large object, possibly a safe or an ATM, fleeing in a black SUV.

According to the restaurant manager, this is the second burglary in just two weeks, with no arrests so far.

In a cheeky response on X, the hot dog spot posted a quote and a gif, referencing a scene from the 1988 film “Coming to America.”

“Note to all you hamburglars, we’ve hired a guy named Hakeem from Zamunda—come back and he’ll thrash you with a mop handle!”
