    Warriors win two at West Bend SPRAWL

    The Waunakee Warriors traveled to West Bend East for the Lynn LaPorte SPRAWL on Friday Sep. 27 and Saturday, Sep. 28. Out of the six matches, the Warriors came away with two wins.

    On Friday Waunakee faced Waukesha West, Manitowoc Lincoln and Menomonee Falls. The team etched wins against Waukesha West and Manitowoc Lincoln in the tournament. The Warriors battled in their matches against Manitowoc Lincoln with final match scores of 26-24, 25-21. Against Menomonee Falls the Warriors scored 15 in the first match. The second match was more of a battle that came down to the wire, but ended in favor of the Falls by a score of 27-25.

    On Saturday, the Warriors lost in all three contests with their closest match being against West Bend West. Waunakee fell to Brookfield East by a score of 25-14 and 25-15. Against Arrowhead, the Warriors scored 19 in their first match and 12 in their second. In the close loss against West Bend West, the Warriors scored 21 in the first match and 18 in the second match.

    Although the end result wasn’t in favor of the Warriors, the team is still impressive in regular season play. The Warriors are undefeated (5-0) in conference play and will face two conference opponents in the final three games of the season.
