While intergender wrestling isn’t uncommon nowadays, in the 90s, it wasn’t really a thing. However, once Chyna joined WWE, that would change, and she was soon competing with stars of the time, including Road Dogg, Jeff Jarrett, and Chris Jericho.

Yet, it’s known that some wrestlers weren’t happy to work with her, and now, during a recent interview with Chris Van Vliet , former Intercontinental Champion Ken Shamrock has revealed he was against getting physical with her due to having taught his children that you never lay your hands on a woman.

“My own personal thing was I just didn’t want to get in the ring with Chyna. I taught my children at a young age, and they were at the time eight, seven, and five. Young kids going to school. One of the things that I drilled into their head is that you respect women and that you don’t lay your hands on them. I was asked to do that. I get it, it’s entertainment, but my family comes first. If I’m doing something that is going to possibly, it might not, but possibly confuse them, I’m not doing it.”

Shamrock and Chyna did occasionally share a ring, although it was played up on commentary that the MMA fighter was firmly against fighting her, although he did memorably give her a belly-to-belly suplex during his feud with Triple H. Still, Shamrock would immediately be shown to regret his actions, which presumably was the prerequisite for Shamrock to go along with this booking.
