NBA Superstar Issues Major Warning to Las Vegas Raiders After Davante Adams News

The Las Vegas Raiders are the talk of the NFL news cycle on Tuesday, and it's not for the best reason.

Just four games into this NFL season, three-time All-Pro receiver Davante Adams was reportedly being shopped by the team in trades. It was also later confirmed by reports that Adams wanted to be traded by Las Vegas, which marks another mismanagement of top talent by the organization.

For the Raiders to truly never surround an elite receiver with complimentary talent around him, Adams' tenure in Las Vegas will mostly be remembered for how dramatic and ugly it got towards the end.

As reported by ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Raiders would "consider" moving Adams for a package centered around a second-round pick that is complemented by "additional compensation." While this appears to be a decent ask for the 31-year-old, notable Raiders fan and NBA superstar Damian Lillard, doesn't think it's an adequate ask.

"If the Raiders trade Tae for a damn 2nd round pick I’m done," Lillard wrote on X.

While the Milwaukee Bucks star and Oakland native, may not love the Raiders' asking price, according to Vincent Bonsignore of the Las Vegas Review-Journal, due to Adams' contract situation, it may be as high as they can go ask-wise. As pointed out by Bonsignore, Adams is in the final season of the guaranteed portion of his contract as there is a "potential out" after the season.

If the contract stays in place, Adams will be a $44 million cap-hit for the next two years.

As it stands right now, the New York Jets are the favorites to land Adams, according to The 33rd Team.

Adams missed the Raiders' Week 4 win over the Browns due to a hamstring issue, which many suspected was him already attempting to force a trade.
