Browns Rookie Defensive Tackle Mike Hall Jr. Suspended Five Games by NFL

Cleveland Browns rookie defensive tackle has not appeared in a game this season while dealing with domestic violence charges from the summer. He recently pleaded no contest to disorderly conduct in an effort to resolve the case, and on Tuesday, the league punished him under the Personal Conduct Policy.

Hall has been suspended five games by the league.

The former Ohio State Buckeyes standout has been on the Commissioner's Exempt list while awaiting the outcome and therefore has not played this year. While Hall was being paid while on the Exempt list, he will not be paid during his suspension.

Hall was drafted in the second round in April's NFL Draft and will be eligible to return after the team's bye in Week 10 against the New Orleans Saints in Week 11. He'll miss games against Washington, Philadelphia, Cincinnati, Baltimore and the Los Angeles Chargers.

In the police report that was filed on Aug. 12, the accuser described an incident where Hall Jr. held a gun to her head and said, "I will (expletive) end it all. I don't care." And that's the part that she has now amended.

The fiancé has since told police she was mistaken when she reported that part of the incident.

According to the police reports, the Lorain County 911 dispatch contacted the Avon Police at about 10:01 p.m. on Monday to request police assistance at a residence - and then the call was "cut off.''

The home in question is that of the mother of Hall's child, and when police called back, they said they spoke with a woman who said Hall "had pushed her daughter (name redacted) and struck her with a baby bottle."
