Florida Pomeranian Pup Needs A Calming, Special Home After Owner Passes Away

(FL) According to the American Kennel Club, it's not unusual for animals to grieve when their owner passes away. It can be a stressful situation for them, and it can be even more stressful when they don't have another home to settle into.

A pomeranian in Florida found herself in this unfortunate situation, and she's looking for a patient, special, forever home that can help her begin to heal.

Meet Dixie Jo: This little pom's age (7) is known because she had a home before the owner passed away. Dixie Jo was loved, but she does currently have some special needs. She has tested positive for heartworm and is currently being treated with medications. She is a beauty with a blonde coat.

Additionally, she is overweight (at 17 pounds,) is currently in a home with 15 other dogs, and has been lovingly referred to as "bossy." Therefore, her foster feels that she would do better in a home where she is the only dog in the home. Her caregivers feel that she'll do best in a "calm, caring" home.

Dixie Jo is spayed, neutered, vaccinated, micro-chipped, de-wormed, and current on flea and tick medication, as well as being treated for heartworms.

According to Hills Pet Nutrition, Pomeranians are perky and friendly dogs that need exercise. They are usually easy pets to keep, although they can be picky eaters.
