    Duke Energy power restoration continues in North Carolina: See latest estimates here

    WBTV reported that As of Wednesday, Oct. 2, nearly 580,000 Duke Energy customers are still without power in North and South Carolina. The impact initially left over 1.3 million customers in the dark when it struck the region on Friday, Sept. 27.

    Duke Energy has been working tirelessly to restore power, and by Wednesday morning, the number of affected customers had decreased to around 578,000.

    Restoration Timeline by County:

    • By 11:45 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 2:
      • Alamance, Cabarrus, Davidson, Durham, Forsyth, Granville, Guilford, Halifax, Harnett, Hoke, Lee, Mecklenburg, Montgomery, Moore, Orange, Randolph, Robeson, Rowan, Sampson, Stokes, Surry, Swain, Vance, Warren, Wilkes
    • By 11:45 p.m. Friday, Oct. 4 (for those who can get repairs):
      • Alexander, Avery, Buncombe, Burke, Caldwell, Catawba, Cleveland, Franklin, Gaston, Haywood, Henderson, Iredell, Jackson, Johnston, Lincoln, Macon, Madison, McDowell, Mitchell, New Hanover, Polk, Rutherford, Stanly, Transylvania, Yancey

    If you’re in one of these areas and still without power, please remain patient as crews continue working to restore services.
