Wellston woman faces conspiracy to commit murder charge

Jackson County Sheriff Tedd Frazier’s Deputies were alerted on Sept. 11, that a woman was asking someone to purchase Fentanyl so she could use it to murder a Wellston man, who resided in her home.

An investigation was initiated and quickly resulted with evidence to continue the case towards the filing of criminal charges against 66-year-old Kathy L. Rainer of New Jersey Avenue, in Wellston.

On the following day, Thursday, Sept. 12, the Jackson County Prosecutor’s Office determined that Rainer would be arrested and charged with Conspiracy to Commit Murder, a first-degree felony.

Rainer was arrested by Jackson County Sheriff’s Deputies and transported to the Jackson County Correctional Facility.

Rainer may face additional charges pending the outcome of a Jackson County Grand Jury session.

Rainer remains incarcerated at an area jail.
