Pittsburgh Steelers veteran guard Isaac Seumalo made it through a full practice Wednesday for the first time since the regular season began, indicating he is on track to make his season debut.

The Steelers’ starting left guard, Seumalo would make his first appearance of 2024 on Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys. In his second year with the Steelers, Seumalo suffered a pectoral injury in late August. He played in all 18 games (including playoffs) for the Steelers last season.

“Getting Isaac back helps a lot,” rookie guard Mason McCormick said, “just having him as a leader in our room.”

Seumalo’s return bumped McCormick over to right guard after he had started at left guard during last Sunday’s loss to the Indianapolis Colts. McCormick replaced Spencer Anderson in that role after Anderson had filled in for Seumalo for the season’s first three games.

Anderson came in at right guard, though, during the first quarter after veteran James Daniels suffered an injury. With Daniels now out for the season because of an Achilles injury, McCormick is his apparent replacement.

Seumalo declined to speak to reporters Wednesday.
