According to a social media post from the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office, deputies will wear pink badges to “inspire hope and resilience in the face of a disease that impacts many families worldwide”.

KHP posted to social media Monday, Oct. 1 troopers will wear pink KHP patches as a way of participating in Pink October.

“Women play a key role within our agency. Some of these incredible women have battled cancer in the past, and some are fighting it today,” KHP said in the post. “Our support extends far beyond the agency to everyone currently battling breast cancer. We honor those who fought in the past and remember those we’ve lost.”
