Dallas Mavericks' "dreams can be possible" with Klay Thompson

Klay Thompson's potential impact and fit with the Dallas Mavericks organization cannot be understated. He is exactly what they were missing last year in the NBA Finals, and the partnership is gearing up to be a match made in heaven.

"I feel like our dreams can be possible because he is here now, and he has added some great value to our championship aspirations," said Kyrie Irving .

The Mavericks did not have a third scoring option behind Irving and Luka Doncic that could help keep up with the Boston Celtics, and they have now added one that does not need the ball in his hands to be impactful. Thompson once scored 60 points on only 11 dribbles .

"You basically can't help off him. Me and Ky, when we have the ball, you basically can't help off Klay because if you leave him wide open, he is going to make it," said Doncic . "He is a four-time champion. He is an amazing player, so I was very excited that he signed us. I can't wait to play with him."

If designing a player to pair alongside the dynamic duo in Dallas, the prototype would be Thompson. He will open up the floor spacing and burn defenses with a three every time they get caught watching the ball.

"We haven't had that here in a while," said Jason Kidd . "This is rare air when you talk about Klay. He is going to go down as one of the best shooters of all time. To have him on our side makes the game easier. Spacing is a big thing, and he creates that."

Thompson came to Dallas to continue his pursuit of a fifth NBA championship, and he picked the perfect place to accomplish that goal. Obviously, we are in the honeymoon stage, but it feels like the excitement in the building is at an all-time high, thanks to the arrival of the former Golden State Warrior.

"That means a lot that they really believe those things because I do too, and I am so excited to get to work. I love this team, and being around these guys for the last eight or nine days has been amazing. I think we have all the ingredients for a championship," said Thompson .
