    Each Thursday, courts-beat reporter Samuel Lisec will assemble a bulletin of local criminal activity reported by C-U police.

    Champaign

    • 300 block of Stoughton Street: Police arrested a man after he attempted to steal items from a store and battered a loss prevention employee at 8:32 p.m. on Sept. 28.
    • 500 block of West Green Street: Police arrested a man at 6:35 p.m. on Sept. 26 for battering a police officer.
    • Ayrshire Drive and Prospect Avenue: Police arrested a man for driving under the influence and without a valid driver’s license at 11:34 p.m. on Sept. 26.
    • 1400 block of North McKinley Avenue: A man reported that his firearm was stolen from his building around 9 p.m. on Sept. 26.
    • 2100 block of Park Court: Police responded to a report of shots fired at 8:51 p.m. on Sept. 25.
    • 1400 block of Garden Hills Drive: A woman reported that her residence was burglarized around 7 a.m. on Sept. 23.
    • 400 block of East University Avenue: Police took a report of a sexual assault and battery at 4:58 a.m. on Sept. 22.
    • 600 block of East University Avenue: Officers responded to remove a subject at 3:36 a.m. on Sept. 22. On arrival, the subject was gone, but a dumpster had been set on fire.
    • 2600 block of North Prospect Avenue: Police arrested a man for committing an armed robbery around 5:15 p.m. on Sept. 20.
    • Kirby and Prospect Avenue: Police arrested a woman for driving under the influence after she was involved in an accident at 8:17 p.m. on Sept. 20.
    • 500 block of West Marketview Drive: A couple used stolen credit card information to pay for a hotel room around noon on Sept. 20.

    Urbana

    • 1100 block of South Lierman Avenue: Two women reportedly fought each other over an illegal drug sale at 10:07 p.m. on Sept. 27; one claimed the other approached her with a knife and the other reported that a man pointed a pistol at her.
    • 1300 block of North Lincoln Avenue: An unknown person entered a man’s apartment and stole property around 9:30 a.m. on Sept. 27.
    • 200 block of East University Avenue: A woman withdrew $2,000 from the bank but left her money and driver’s license in the pneumatic tube outside. The man who was the next customer then stole the items at 8:50 a.m. on Sept. 26.
    • 600 block of West University Avenue: An unknown person recklessly discharged a firearm and injured a victim, who was then arrested on unrelated warrants around 6:30 a.m. on Sept. 25.
    • 600 block of West Park Street: An unknown offender called a patient room at a local hospital at 11:12 a.m. on Sept. 25 and made a vague threat to blow up the hospital.
    • East Washington Street and South High Cross Road: Police arrested a man for operating a stolen car that was involved in leaving the scene of a prior accident at 7:09 p.m. on Sept. 24. The driver also showed forged registration and had ammunition in the car.
    • 1700 block of East Washington Street: Police issued a notice to appear in court to the owner of a dog that attacked another person’s dog while running at large at 12:18 p.m. on Sept. 24.
    • 600 block of West University Avenue: Police issued a woman a notice to appear in court after she battered a nurse while being evaluated at a local hospital at 10:22 p.m. on Sept. 23.
    • 1000 block of Melrose Village Circle: A woman reported that property was stolen out of her vehicle around 12:15 p.m. on Sept. 23.
    • 800 block of North Lincoln Avenue: Two unidentified people robbed an Urbana business with firearms and fled with cash at 8:58 p.m. on Sept. 22.
    • 1000 block of Melrose Village Circle: An unknown person reportedly stole a woman’s vehicle around 11 p.m. on Sept. 22.
    • 1300 block of Abercorn Street: After a road rage incident, two women exited their respective vehicles and battered each other around 3:10 p.m. on Sept. 20.
    • 800 block of Oakland Avenue: A woman reported that an unknown person attempted to enter her residence while it was unoccupied around 10 p.m. on Sept. 20.

    University of Illinois

    • 1000 block of South Lincoln Avenue: Police responded to a sexual assault that occurred in a UIUC residence hall around 1:30 a.m. on Sept. 29.
    • 600 block of East Green Street: An unknown person reportedly alarmed and disturbed a victim with “pending war comments” around 2 p.m. on Sept. 26.
    • 100 block of East Green Street: A person reported that they were touched without their consent at a Campustown bar around 12:15 a.m. on Sept. 25.
    • 500 block of Gregory Drive: Police responded to a report of a suspect carrying copper pipes out of a construction zone at 11:39 p.m. on Sept. 24 but the suspect fled before arrival.
    • 300 block of West Green Street: Police investigated threats a caller from Florida made to a local law office at 3:24 p.m. on Sept. 23 to shoot up the Memorial Stadium during the next football game.
    • 2800 block of North Lincoln Avenue: Police responded to a local business for a report of stolen scrap metal at 5:19 a.m. on Sept. 21.
    • 700 block of South Sixth Street: A person reported around 8:30 a.m. on Sept. 20 that somebody had entered and slept in their apartment while they were out of town, though there were no items stolen or signs of forced entry.
