    Homeless woman hospitalized after found beaten in Short North

    COLUMBUS, Ohio ( WCMH ) – A woman has been hospitalized in serious condition after she was assaulted in north Columbus early Thursday morning.

    According to Columbus police a homeless woman was found on North High Street near the West 5 th Avenue intersection in the Short North. She was taken to the hospital after having been severely beaten with lacerations to her face and neck.

    Police said the incident occurred at around 1:15 a.m. and that due to the woman’s condition, she was unable to speak with officers about a potential suspect.
