After making a name for herself with the UConn Huskies in the NCAA, Nika Muhl decided to forgo her final year of eligibility in order to turn pro. The two-time Big East Defensive Player of the Year was selected in the second round by the Seattle Storm in the 2024 WNBA Draft.

Unfortunately, Muhl's rookie season did not exactly go as planned . The Croatian basketball star averaged just 3.6 minutes per game for the Storm, and it wasn't until the final day of the regular season that she scored her first two points as a professional.

Muhl remained on the bench in both of Seattle's losses in the opening round of the playoffs, which saw them get eliminated by the two-time defending champs Las Vegas Aces.

Muhl is now moving on -- at least for the offseason. This is after the 23-year-old decided to make a big career move by taking her talents abroad.

Muhl agreed to a contract with Turkish side Beşiktaş back in May. She flew to Turkey after the WNBA season ended and was able to make her debut for her new team on Wednesday.

Muhl isn't exactly going to be a superstar out in Turkey, but she's surely going to be able to get more opportunities compared to her first year in Seattle. True enough, the 6-foot guard kicked off her Beşiktaş career with a nice mid-range jumper -- one that left Storm star teammate Nneka Ogwumike impressed.

"Nikababy 🥹❤️" Ogwumike commented on a post on X, formerly Twitter.

Muhl is still under contract with the Storm, which means that she will return to the U.S. before the new season starts. In the meantime, she will want to take advantage of any and all opportunities that come her way during her time in Europe.

The hope is that Muhl does well enough in her stint abroad to give Seattle head coach Noelle Quinn something to think about in terms of Muhl's minutes in her second season.
