The NCAA Tournament is coming to Lexington, Kentucky. You can secure your spot to catch a case of March Madness by purchasing tickets for this year’s first and second round games at Rupp Arena.

Before I share the details, allow me to remind you that Kentucky WILL NOT be playing in any of these games at Rupp Arena . NCAA rules prohibit teams from playing first or second round games on their home court.

Even though you will not be able to watch your favorite team in blue and white in the NCAA Tournament at Rupp Arena, watching March Madness in person is a delight. Louisville drew the Rupp Arena opening round games at Rupp back in 2013. The Cards’ games weren’t fun — aside from the kid in the Colorado State Ram mascot hat — but I was thrilled to watch Marquette and Davidson go down to the wire at the home of Kentucky basketball. Being a neutral fan while other fanbases are on pins and needles is an experience you can only catch in the NCAA Tournament.

Presale tickets for the 2025 NCAA Tournament Games at Rupp Arena go on sale today at noon. The window will remain open until tomorrow night at midnight. Use promo code RUPPNCAA25 to find all of the available tickets here .

NCAA Tournament History at Rupp Arena

This spring will be the thirteenth time Rupp Arena has hosted NCAA Tournament games, and the first time the event has been to Lexington since 2013. It was last a Regional host site in 2002 when Indiana pulled off a stunning upset of Duke on its way to the National Championship Game, the Hoosiers’ last trip to a Final Four.

Rupp Arena hosted one Final Four and it was one of the most memorable in the history of the sport. Three Big East teams traveled to Lexington in 1985 and the biggest underdog left victoriously. No. 8 seed Villanova knocked off Patrick Ewing’s Georgetown Hoyas 66-64 in one of the greatest upsets in NCAA Tournament history. Rollie Massimino’s team is still the lowest seed to ever win a National Championship and they did it by knocking off the defending National Champs.
