A popular Greek street food, gyros feature thinly sliced meat wrapped in pitas with other ingredients like onions, fried potatoes, and tzatziki sauce. If that sounds good, head to one of these Ohio restaurants where you’ll also find delicious sides and ice-cold drinks:

The Gyro Shoppe (2061 West Henderson Road, Columbus)

Serving authentic Greek cuisine in Columbus since 1992, The Gyro Shoppe is where “every dish bursts with intoxicating flavors in every bite.” Service is fast and friendly, and you can dine or grab your meal to go.

Try the chicken gyros. They’re best enjoyed with Greek fries and a small tossed salad.

Niko's Bar & Gyros (12766 Royalton Road, North Royalton)

A haven for sports fans, Niko's is the place to be on game day. You can watch everything from basketball to UFC fights, and there's always a good seat to watch the action.

Try the pork belly gyro. It features pork belly and pork butt served on a pita with tomatoes, cucumbers, and red onions.

Simply Greek (33700 Aurora Road, Solon)

Stop by Simply Greek to see why it was named number one on Yelp’s list of "50 places to eat in Cleveland." The chefs never use a microwave. They only serve the finest, freshest meals, and you can watch them work in the open kitchen.

Sample the gyro. This delicious sandwich offers seasoned beef and lamb topped with mixed greens, tomatoes, red onions, and tzatziki.

EuroGyro (107 South Depeyster Street, Kent)

George Istocki started working in his father’s restaurant in 1979. Today, he proudly owns EuroGyro, where he shares his passion for food. The Kent location opened in 1989, around the corner from Kent State University. It’s a favorite among students and non-students alike, and the menu features something delicious for everyone.

Don’t miss the Cajun gyros. Packed full of flavor, they include onions, tomatoes, house-made cucumber sauce, and lamb meat grilled in a spicy sauce.
