Apollo High School senior Niles Board came into the 2024 season raring to go — but he wasn’t able to help the team during its opening-bight 50-13 home loss to City-County rival Owensboro Catholic.

Board had been ejected from the game when Apollo lost at Bowling Green during the opening round of the 2023 KHSAA football playoffs, and was suspended from this season’s opening game.
