Bill O’Reilly Tells SNL To Learn ‘A Little Class’ From Dana Carvey After Non-‘Malicious’ Biden Impression: ‘Man’s Brilliant’

Bill O’Reilly is not typically one to be singing the praises of Saturday Night Live, but he offered kudos to the show’s return thanks to comedian Dana Carvey’s impression of President Joe Biden, an impression O’Reilly argued could teach the show a thing or two.

“I think the man’s brilliant and you know what the best thing is? It’s not malicious, it’s just designed to be satirical and to get some laughs. He’s not hating anybody out there,” O’Reilly said in a bonus video for No Spin News following SNL returning for its 50th season.

O’Reilly went on to say he had been told through mutual friend Dennis Miller, who frequently appeared on O’Reilly’s former Fox News show, told him Carvey is a “really good guy” after O’Reilly reached out with a “note” following Carvey losing his son earlier this year.

“I know a lot of people in show biz and when I come across somebody who gets 100% good ratings as a human being, I kind of broadcast that around,” O’Reilly said of Carvey.

O’Reilly accused SNL of being particularly “nasty” in the past with its digs at Trump. Alec Baldwin portrayed the former president numerous times on the show while the actual Trump was in office, and the then-president blasted the show numerous times. He’s criticized it many times since too.

O’Reilly praised Carvey and his past work on SNL, which included portraying George H.W. Bush, and said the sketch comedy show could learn some “class” from Carvey and his approach to satirizing Biden.

“I was happy to see the whole Saturday Night Live thing wasn’t as nasty as it was last year, particularly with Trump. And I don’t mind satirizing Trump. I mean, my God, you have to, right?” he said. “But do it in a way like Carvey does it, with a little class.”
