I am sorry but the Attorney General should be given some type of fail-safe authority. Essentially he/she is the prosecutor for the state of Oklahoma. If this person says *Hey, there is really something wrong here" that should be given some measure of weight. No prosecutor in the USA will ever go on record stating something was terribly wrong with the trial and we need to rethink this conviction without feeling absolutely certain about what they are saying. I would wager that the AG poured through the case file and court transcripts numerous times before full committing to that conclusion. The consequences for doing so and being wrong as a prosecutor and actually releasing murder, I can't even fathom the fallout. The fact that we could potentially murder an innocent man because of beaurocratic bullshit is entirely unacceptable.
