Caitlin Clark won the WNBA’s Rookie of the Year award, but even that honor did not come without a controversy.

Clark received 66 of the 67 possible votes for the award. Chicago Sky rookie Angel Reese received one vote, which prevented Clark from becoming a unanimous winner of the award.

Consider that Clark won Rookie of the Month in four of the possible five months of the season. She also played in all 40 games, and led all rookies in points, assists, steals and minutes. Moreoever, Clark helped her Indiana Fever make the playoffs, while the Sky finished worse this season than they did last season.

All of that adds up to Clark being the most deserving player of the honor. 66 of 67 (98.5 percent) of the voters felt Clark deserved the award. Only one unidentified voter did not give it to Clark. Maybe it was a Nike employee who voted for Reese .
