    Walmart in Lakewood evacuated after hoax bomb threat

    DENVER ( KDVR ) — A bomb threat was reported at a Lakewood Walmart on Thursday, leading to a police response at the store.

    The store was reportedly evacuated as the Lakewood Police Department investigated. At about 2:30 p.m., Lakewood police said the report was a hoax, the store had been cleared and reopened to customers.

    The store, located at 7455 Colfax Ave., is near the intersection with Wadsworth Boulevard and only a few blocks west of Casa Bonita.

    FOX31 photographer went to the scene and reported seeing one police vehicle and people entering and exiting the store.

    I lived across the street from that Walmart for eight years, and nothing like that happened when I lived there. Ridiculous this is happening.
