LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — More drug, alcohol, and mental health services are on the way for the children and young adults of Luzerne County.

On Thursday, US Representative Matt Cartwright announced a $730,000 award from the DOJ that will go towards expanding Luzerne County’s juvenile wellness court.

Breeze adds service from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton to Fort Myers/Tampa

The funds will be used to help offer more services to the area’s children and their families with the hope that it will help them avoid involvement with the juvenile justice system.

Cartwright says this is part of his ongoing mission to build a future where our children can grow up safely and those battling addiction can rebuild their lives with dignity.
