Cat trees are lovely. Scratching posts are wonderful. You should definitely get one, or your cat will definitely be upset with you, but... they're not the most flexible things. Sometimes, you might just want your cat to have an extra space to chill in an area of your home where you don't want an entire structure. That's when kitty condos and even cat hammocks come in super handy!
Just like cat trees and scratching posts, you can find something for just about any aesthetic you can think of. If your furniture looking like it just came straight off the set of That 70s Show is what you're after, Walmart has just the thing for you!

The TOYAFUN Hanging Cat Hammock can be put up in any room of your house, so long as you have a place to hang it. It doesn't take up valuable floor space, which makes it perfect for creating a kitty nook: hang this on the ceiling, put their food and water station below it and their litter box off to one side!
This $30 pet bed weighs just under 2 pounds, and the seller states that it can hold up to 33 pounds of cat without any issue. Whether you've got a massive Maine Coon or a couple of kitties who love to cuddle, they'll fit comfortably in it! The hammock will gently sway as they adjust on it, but the cotton cords that connect the top to the bottom are positioned to prevent any awkward tipping or falling.
One thing worth noting: this hammock is not intended for play. While the woven cotton cords will hold up against mild scratching and pulling and its ability to swing will be soothing for cats, it provides no other forms of enrichment. Think of it as more of an accompaniment to a larger setup than a replacement for a cat tree/scratching post!
TOYAFUN's cat hammock comes with almost everything you'll need to assemble it, including good-quality ceiling hooks and an instruction manual that even those of us who cry assembling IKEA bookshelves will be able to understand. You will need to provide your own power tools, and having a couple of extra ceiling anchors on-hand just in case won't hurt!
While the cat hammock is "beautiful," according to the reviews, it doesn't come with that round cushion you see in the photo (or any cushion at all). TOYAFUN discloses that in the product description and mentions that the diameter of the ring is 15.7 inches, so before you hit checkout, you'll want to find a cushion to go with it, like this one. On the bright side, you get to pick the color!
If you don't want to buy a cushion, that's fine too: you can opt for literally anything that will fit there, like a small pet bed, a wadded up blanket, or their favorite cardboard box. The one thing all cats seem to agree upon is that they'll sit on basically anything that's mildly comfortable!
