This happened to me a couple weeks ago. I got a call from someone who left a voicemail saying he was “Officer Davis with the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office” and needing me to call him back. I did actually return the call and they didn’t answer but I left a voicemail for the person which in retrospect was probably stupid. My husband then called both MCSO and GJPD who informed us there was no such person who works there AND they wouldn’t leave a “direct line” phone number to return the call anyway but rather would have left the main office number. Scammers are everywhere!! 😡
