The San Diego Padres are taking some measures to try to ensure a home-field advantage when they host the Los Angeles Dodgers this postseason.

The Padres and Dodgers are set to meet in the postseason for the third time since 2020. The Dodgers swept the Padres in the NLDS in 2020; the Padres won in four games in the NLDS in 2022; and now they are meeting in the NLDS again.

Though the Dodgers are hosting Games 1 and 2 (and 5 if necessary), the Padres will be home for Games 3 and 4 (if necessary). And the Padres put some ticket purchasing restrictions in place.

Those who were looking to purchase tickets for Games 3 and 4 of the NLDS at Petco Park were restricted to using a credit card that had a billing address located in San Diego County, south Orange County, western Arizona, Las Vegas and the surrounding areas, and all of Baja California.

The main objective for the Padres is to make it harder for Dodgers fans to attend the games. They want Petco Park to be packed full of Padres fans and rocking for those games. In the NL Wild Card Series between the Padres and Braves, Petco Park was as loud as it gets .
