Obviously with our 'prison reform' we need more space. However, (based on another report on this contract) 3 year contract and can extend that another 7 yrs(10 yrs possible?) Is that just to get this one 3,000 bed facility built??? We've already got 2000+ sitting in county jails. spending who knows how much in tax dollars renovating some space at Varner (?), and surely the county jails in Phillips and Mississippi the state took over are going to need renos.

Arkansas has the highest prison population than any other state in America. SHS and AG Griffin have made money from prisoners going into jail and coming out of jail through connection with building new jails and the non-profit Evangelical Ministries for re-entry with provisions promoting their legalistic ideas on morals to bring Jesus' Second Coming to fruition. The sad truth is, with all the building of new prisons and re-entry programs they can muster Arkansas is rated within the top 10% of the most dangerous places to live. The system that this administration promoted is less about rehabilitation and more about profits in their bank accounts.
