NBA 2K25: How to Master MyCAREER

The prevalent NBA 2K game mode MyCAREER is always changing. For some, it is difficult to have success, especially in the newer NBA 2K installments like NBA 2K25. There is a lot to unpack in all of the features and tips for MyCAREER mode, but to truly master it is not as complicated as expected. Some player builds are easier to have success in, but this is not the most important aspect of this game mode.

Mastery of MyCAREER

2K Sports has emphasized the use of Badges in MyCAREER, some believe that they have too much power in NBA 2K. There are 40 skill Badges featured in NBA 2K25, they are separated into 2 tiers with tier 1 being more valuable. Certain categories of these Badges like Outside Scoring, will improve the player to the max in shooting. If you want an All-Around player be careful about going too far into one category of Badges, as a new level above Hall Of Fame called Legend will take even more attribute points.

Just like the previous 2Ks, there are performance multipliers and Quests. Of course, getting a high-performance grade of an A- or above will progress your Badges after every game. Takeovers return with 72 featured in the game and 14 abilities, which boosts the players' attributes for a short time. Each Takeover targets different attributes and has five levels, ranging from Level 1 when you're just heating up, to Level 5 when you're red-hot.

When building your player there are multiple options to choose from, you can create your own build which gives the user the freedom to experiment with what works best. NBA Builds provides the opportunity to choose a build based on 40 different NBA stars across the league, the newly introduced Community Builds from NBA 2K24 returns allowing the player to use templates from other people. A new feature is the Pro Tuned Build, there are 74 pre-equipped templates to choose from based on Position, Skill, and Archetype.

Being able to master MyCAREER is not something that has been easy in the past and with 2K adding more in-depth features to MyCAREER it will only get harder. For seasoned 2K players, it would be best to create a build you are familiar with if you want the best results. The way a user experiences this game is different for everyone, and it is normal to want to play casually and create a unique build.

Being able to play in a High School Championship game, the FIBA U19 World Cup, and an Exhibition game against current NBA players before beginning your NBA career.
