The Chicago Bulls made a bold decision in the summer when they traded Alex Caruso to the Oklahoma City Thunder for Josh Giddey. Most believe that they could have gotten more out of the deal, as they were parting ways with one of the best defenders in the league.

Caruso could be the final piece of the puzzle for the Thunder, who should be challenging next season. On the other hand, it remains to be seen how things play out for Giddey in Chicago.

He was selected 6th overall by the Thunder in the 2021 NBA Draft and averaged 13.9 points, 7.3 rebounds and 5.7 assists in 210 games over his three seasons in the NBA.

Giddey showed promise with the Thunder for sure and his three-point shot was improving as well. But perhaps Oklahoma City was not the best place for him to fully flourish into the player he can be.

Giddey is currently dealing with an injury he picked up while representing Australia at the Olympics but he should be fine in time for the season opener against the New Orleans Pelicans.

He seems to be pretty confident about this team's potential as well, even though most fans are not excited about the Bulls at the moment.

According to ESPN , Giddey said: "We started scrimmaging with 14-second shot clocks to emphasize the pace we want to play.

"Once it becomes a habit, this team's going to be pretty scary in the open court."

Does the decision to bring in Giddey suggest that the Bulls are already preparing for life after Lonzo Ball?

Ball has not played in more than two seasons, dealing with a knee injury and undergoing multiple surgeries.

He looks set to be ready in time for the season opener. But it remains to be seen how he performs after so much time off the court and the magnitude of his injuries.
