NBA legends Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce recently spoke on the WNBA's Caitlin Clark phenomenon following her historic rookie season with the Indiana Fever.

While Garnett and Pierce were exchanging words about Clark, Garnett mentioned that he believes Clark is the new "it."

He thinks she's setting the bar for the rest of the WNBA and even thinks she has a chance to be the greatest women's basketball player of all time.

"Caitlin Clark's the new 'it,'" Garnett said on his "KG CERTIFIED" show.

Garnett then spoke about what sets Clark apart from the rest of her competition. He believes her long-range shooting is setting a precedent in the WNBA and thinks if a player doesn't have a range in modern-day basketball, their skill set is lacking.

"If you don't have the long ball, if you ain't doing the Steph Curry, if you don't have none of that long ball in your game, yeah, you're going to be behind," Garnett added. "She's setting the precedent on what we watching."

Clark came into the league in 2024 as the No. 1 overall draft pick out of Iowa. She left the Hawkeyes after a four-year career, where the Fever rookie averaged 28.4 points, and 7.1 rebounds and 8.2 assists per game.

The talented guard quickly translated her scoring and playmaking ability to the WNBA, averaging 19.2 points, 5.7 rebounds and 8.4 assists during her rookie season. She led the WNBA in average assists while leading the rookie class in points and assists.

Indiana's young star helped the Fever secure a trip to the WNBA playoffs for the first time since 2016, putting them in a position to compete for a title. However, they were swept out of the first round of the playoffs by the Connecticut Sun, falling 0-2 in the series.

The Fever finished the 2024 regular season with a 20-20 record, listed as the No. 6 seed in the WNBA standings.
