    The San Francisco Opera is offering steeply discounted ticket prices for its prime seats to attract new audiences. Normally, these tickets would cost over $220, but in a historic move, the opera house is selling them for just $10, the price they were when the opera first opened its doors in 1932. This exclusive offer is a testament to the opera's commitment to its community.

    Thanks to the partnership with the philanthropist Dolby family, who is helping to subsidize the costs, the “Opera for the Bay” tickets will offer prime viewing seats on two classics set to play ‘Carmen’ and ‘La Boheme.’ This isn't the first time the Opera House has provided more accessible pricing; back in 2022, they did the same $10 ticket deals to celebrate its 100th anniversary of producing opera in the Bay area.

    Dagmar Doby, a member of the family who has helped this project come to realization, stated back in 2022 that;

    “We want to invite people of all ages and backgrounds around the Bay Area to experience the art produced by this dynamic institution — their opera company… We hope the ‘Opera for the Bay’ ticket initiative is the catalyst that encourages the newcomer, entices the opera curious, and welcomes back those who have not been in a while.”

    With anticipation building, tickets for these performances will go on sale one month before the opening night. However, due to the high demand and limited availability, each resident of San Francisco can only purchase two tickets. Take advantage of this unique opportunity to witness world-class opera.
