Trump Insists He Had No Idea His Truth Social Account Claimed Jamie Dimon Endorsed Him: ‘I Don’t Know Anything About It

Former President Donald Trump feigned ignorance Friday evening after he was asked about a post on his social media account that falsely claimed JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon had endorsed his presidential bid.

The former president’s Truth Social account touted a Dimon endorsement Friday afternoon. Trump’s account shared a screenshot of an unknown origin of the supposed endorsement.

Mediaite reached out to JPMorgan Chase about the claim on Trump’s page and was told Dimon had not endorsed the Republican Party’s 2024 White House nominee.

Trump was on the campaign trail in Evans, Georgia, Friday afternoon, visiting those devastated by Hurricane Helene when he was asked to clarify why his account had posted an endorsement from Dimon that did not exist.

NBC News’s Jake Traylor reported he informed Trump that Dimon had denied endorsing him and asked the former president to clarify the Truth Social post.

Trump reportedly said, “I don’t know anything about it.”

Pressed further on the issue, Trump reportedly stated, “Somebody put it up – no I don’t know.”

Dimon announced earlier this year he would not make an endorsement prior to the 2024 election.

In August, Dimon wrote in The Washington Post, “We live in a perilous time. Deeply divided, our nation now faces both challenging domestic issues and perhaps the most complicated geopolitical situation since World War II. We may be at an inflection point that will determine the fate of the free and democratic world for decades.” Dimon concluded:

America has all the advantages, and we can win the future with smart policy, courageous leaders and everyone with a seat at the table moving in concert.

We need to elect a president who is dedicated to the ideals that define and unite us, and who is committed to restoring our faith in America and our indispensable role in the world.

Such a person could be one of our greatest presidents — and put us on a path that is worthy of the American people.
