The U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of West Virginia announced today that Alan J. Disomma Jr., 61, of Payson, Arizona, was sentenced to life in prison for two counts of attempted enticement of a minor and one count of traveling in interstate commerce with the intent to engage in illicit sexual activity.

A federal jury convicted Disomma on February 23, 2024, following a two-day trial, the department says.

During the trial, evidence revealed that on December 10, 2021, Disomma began messaging a woman in West Virginia whom he believed to be the mother of two minor girls.

“This case involved horrific facts that painted a vivid picture of defendant’s intense desire to have sex with two children,” said United States Attorney Will Thompson. “The offense conduct in this case was reprehensible, and today’s sentence reflects their gravity.”

According to the U.S. Attorney's Office, between December 21, 2021, and December 18, 2022, Disomma exchanged text messages with the woman, repeatedly expressing his intent to engage in sexual activity with both girls.

The department stated that during these exchanges, Disomma inquired about flying to West Virginia to meet the girls.

On December 18, 2022, Disomma flew from Arizona to Charleston, West Virginia, with plans to meet the woman and travel to her residence, where he intended to engage in sexual activity with both girls, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.

Upon his arrival in Charleston, Disomma was arrested by law enforcement officers.

“I commend the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) West Virginia Human Trafficking and Child Exploitation Task Force and the West Virginia State Police for their investigation of this case,” added Thompson.
