GLOUSTER — All you can do is line up against who’s on the schedule and take care of business from there.

Celebrating homecoming in a raucous environment in Glouster, Trimble took on a struggling Belpre program who only suited up 20 student-athletes. Pummeling the Golden Eagles (1-6, 0-1 Tri-Valley Conference-Hocking) the entirety of the night, the Tomcats (5-2, 2-0 TVC-Hocking) grabbed a 52-6 victory to stay undefeated in divisional play. Trimble was able to secure a 27-point lead before the first quarter even ended.

A litany of different athletes were able to find the endzone for Trimble as the team was able to score in almost every way imaginable. Brady Jajczyk, Matthew Moyer, Luke Orsborne, Trevor Gowen and Sam Everett all scored rushing touchdowns.

Paul Sharp secured a deep touchdown catch while Owen Sikorski took a punt back for a score. Noah Smith also took an interception back for a touchdown in the win.

As previously mentioned, it didn’t particularly take too long for the crowd to realize where this game was going. On the very first play from scrimmage, Sikorski broke one loose for a 50+ yard gain to set Trimble up in the redzone. One play later, Jajczyk went right and tiptoed the sidelines for the score to put the Tomcats up just 42 seconds into the night.

Trimble didn’t even need to take another snap to already stack on to the lead. After forcing a three-and-out on Belpre’s first possession deep in their own zone, Sikorski took a shanked punt back to the house to double up the score quickly.

One possession later while inside Belpre territory, the passing game started to come alive with Jajczyk finding Chase Patton on a tight end pop pass. The senior broke a few tackles on the way down to the five yard line. Seconds after, Moyer took it right up the gut to make it a 21-0 game with more than seven minutes still remaining in the opening quarter.

The Golden Eagles started to finally show signs of life offensively by getting to midfield with the clock draining in the first. However, that was quickly halted when Smith jumped in front of a pass on the sidelines and took it back 50+ yards the other way for yet another Tomcats touchdown.

Going into a four wideout formation for the first time on the night, Trimble was able to take advantage of Belpre’s defensive formation. Jajczyk was able to find a wide open Sharp in the endzone to push the lead over 30 early into the second quarter.

With a running clock now fully in effect, the Tomcats’ next score came with just under four minutes left in the half. Orsborne took a fullback dive up the middle for a goal line score to make it 39-0.

Trimble used the second half as an opportunity to get the second unit onto the field and gain some essential varsity experience for some of the younger athletes. Sophomore Aiden Dixon took over under center for the final half.

Taking over much of the load on offense, Gowen scored with four minutes left in the third quarter to push the lead up to 45 points at the time. The final touchdown of the night came when Everett punched it up the middle with just over three minutes remaining on the night.

Doing what the program needed to do at this point, Trimble has its most important weeks of the regular season coming up. Over the next two weeks, the Tomcats go to Eastern before hosting Waterford for the final divisional clashes of the year.
