"Gabriel shouldn't be making those uncharacteristic mistakes," says Fox studio guy Sam Acho. True enough, but the Ducks did an incredible job of having his back.

Jordan James in the first half: 16 carries, 151 yards and a TD. Best half of his career and he's been solid and consistent all season, every carry tonight. So physical and determined.

Gabriel bounced back from the mistakes to complete 7 of his last 9, a string of sharp, accurate throws on the last scoring drive.

The scoring pass to Stewart was nice to see. A great route by Evan and a beautiful throw. Good to get him involved in the offense.

Even with the errors by Gabriel, this has been a coming-out party for the Ducks, The defense has been lights out, and they've gotten big, explosive plays by James (41-yard run,) Ferguson (62-yard screen pass,) Holden (37-yard catch, on his back.)

Duck fans like to rip on Will Stein, but 363 yards of offense in a half is exceptional.

Spartans get a couple of first downs, but a sack by Burch and a pass breakup by Brandon Johnson thwart the drive. Johnson made a great recovery to work through the catch.

Terrific diving catch by T-Ferg, 20 yards to the 43. On 3rd and 5, Stewart lays out for deep ball in the end zone, mistimes his jump a little and the ball goes through his hands. Great effort He's shaken up, on the turf. Brings up 4th and 5 on the MSU 32.

50-yard field goal by Andrew Boyle splits the uprights. Ducks 24-0. Longest kick by a UO kicker in quite a while.

Ducks have 4 sacks and 5 tackles for loss, 3 pass breakups.

3rd and 2, MSU. Delay of game. Burch pressures Chiles into another errant throw. MSU punts from the 18. After a jitterbug return by Tez, Ducks have the ball at the UO 36.

Crowd has been into it, and it's rattled the Spartans young quarterback Chiles. They've been pinned at their own end by good kick coverage and a shark-hungry defense.

Oregon hasn’t made a 50 yard field goal since 2008!!!

Two-man rush. Gabriel has 8 seconds to throw. Offsetting penalties, 3rd and 6. Spartans offside, illegal shift. 4 penalties on two plays. Has to be some kind of record.

Still 3rd and 6, MSU 45. A hitch to Tez gains a first down. Another pass to Tez, another first down.

Completes the third quarter with the Ducks driving. Michigan State's been held to 130 yards of offense, 27 in the third quarter. Ducks with great balance, 220 yards rushing, 210 through the air.

T-Ferg drops a touchdown pass. Johnson catches an underneath pass, dives short of the sticks. 4th and 1 on the 10. James drives ahead behind Poncho, Harper and Conerly for the first down. Tries Ferguson in the corner, draws pass interference.

1st down goal at the 2. James runs right, stopped for a one-yard loss. MSU takes time out. 2nd and goal. Johnson to the one over right tackle. 3rd down, James swarmed under on an inside run. Ducks go on 4th and goal. Flat route to Tez, easy score. 31-0.

Fresh jerseys in the game. Oregon gives up a 31-yard pass completion.  Michigan State down to the Red Zone. Tuioti has 7 tackles tonight. The twos give up a drive, and Oregon's best bid at a shutout since 2012 falls short. 31-7.

Dante Moore is in at quarterback, and Jurrion Dickey gets a catch for 7 yards, his first of the year. Three and out, Ducks punting with 6:41 to play.

Andrew Boyle, the backup kicker, hit that 50-yard field goal. Connor Soelle stops MSU short on 3rd and short.

Defense needs to work on not losing contain when the quarterback scrambles. Will Howard is 6-4, 235 and mobile. Blake Purchase gets Oregon's 5th sack.

Oregon held the Michigan State running attack to 30 carries, 59 yards. Of course 5 sacks drove down the total but still. That's a great job by the Front 7.
