Nick Saban Admits One Thing He Hates About Working on ‘College GameDay’

Former Alabama Crimson Tide head coach Nick Saban has been a welcomed addition to the crew of ESPN’s “College GameDay” this season.

Saban’s name value is part of the reason the show is seeing unprecedented success this season with record viewership numbers. Just last week, “College GameDay” averaged 2.3 million viewers and peaked at 3 million in the final hour while in Tuscaloosa for the highly anticipated Georgia-Alabama matchup.

It marked a 38% increase from the viewership total in Week 5 of the previous season.

And while “College GameDay” is drawing record crowds on a weekly basis, there is one thing about the show that Saban admittedly doesn’t like, which he recently confessed to AL.com .

“I hate it when that guy’s in your ear and he says you can’t talk yet,” Saban admitted. “You have to wait your turn.”

Considered arguably the greatest college head coach of all time, Saban isn’t used to being shushed by anyone. He also has to share the floor with his co-hosts Rece Davis, Kirk Herbstreit, Pat McAfee, Desmond Howard and Lee Corso.

Though he did find a negative about his new job, Saban also disclosed that “College GameDay” has also given him a new perspective on college football.

When he was coaching, he’d narrow his focus solely to the teams that Alabama was playing each year. But now, he has to be an expert on all teams, which has forced him to sharpen his analysis skills and open his eyes to what’s going on around the sport.
