(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — A 2-and-a-half year old boy is nursing a gunshot wound to the hand, after he was hit by a bullet from a gun that had been accidentally discharged.

The shooting happened in west suburban Lyons Friday afternoon.

A village spokesperson said the toddler and a 16-year-old boy were in a room in a home on Center Avenue in Lyons, when the unsecured weapon discharged.
