Marshawn Lynch Goes Viral With Perfect Arrival to 'College GameDay'

"College GameDay" made its first-ever appearance at the University of California, and the Golden Bears fans were absolutely electric. Pat McAfee had the crowd hyped up throughout the broadcast as Cal prepares for its Week 6 matchup against the No. 8 ranked Miami Hurricanes.

The Golden Bears have played much better than anticipated after joining the ACC Conference in the offseason. Cal heads into Saturday's contest with a 3-1 record and has a chance to pull off a major upset.

But during the "College GameDay" broadcast in Berkley, former Cal running back Marshawn Lynch may have stolen the show. The 38-year-old former football star arrived on set the only way he could.

Lynch drove onto the set on the exact cart he drove back in 2006. ESPN's Jess Sims rode as Lynch's passenger, holding a large bucket and tossing out bags of Skittles to cheering fans and students. It was just the perfect entrance for the Cal legend.

Lynch originally drove that cart after Cal beat out the Washington Huskies 31-24 in overtime in a 2006 matchup. After rushing for 150 yards and two touchdowns, Lynch famously took an injury cart for a joyride .

Seeing him back on the cart is absolutely amazing. Especially on the "College GameDay" set surrounded by fans and Cal students. Later in the program, both Lynch and Pat McAfee chose the Golden Bears to upset the Hurricanes in Saturday's game.

Lynch played for the Golden Bears for three years before taking his talent to the NFL in 2007. During his time in California, the former superstar running back recorded 3,230 rushing yards and 35 total touchdowns.

"Beast Mode" was selected by the Buffalo Bills in the 2007 NFL Draft. Buffalo eventually traded Lynch to the Seattle Seahawks midway through the 2010 season where he remained with the Seahawks for six seasons.

He retired in 2016 but returned to the league in 2017 to play for the then Oakland Raiders. After two seasons with the Raiders, Lynch re-signed with the Seahawks in 2019, which was his final season in the NFL. Lynch ended his pro career with 10,413 rushing yards and 94 total touchdowns. He also averaged 4.2 yards per attempt.
