    Man fatally shot after argument turns violent in Chicago's River North

    CHICAGO – A man was shot and killed early Saturday morning in Chicago’s River North neighborhood following a confrontation that escalated into gunfire.

    According to the Chicago Police Department, the incident occurred just before 4 a.m. on West Hubbard Street in the 100 block. Police reported that a 24-year-old man became involved in a physical altercation with another individual, which quickly turned deadly when the other person pulled out a firearm and shot the victim.

    The victim, who sustained a gunshot wound to his body, was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. Authorities have not yet released the identity of the deceased.

    A person of interest has been taken in for questioning, though no charges have been announced as the investigation continues.
