Former President Donald Trump said he doesn’t “feel safe” as he returns Saturday to host a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, the site of his near-miss assassination attempt in July, when a shooter grazed his ear. He shared his concerns with Kellyanne Conway during an episode of her Fox News show. “No, no, I don’t feel safe. It’s a dangerous business,” he said. “I’m in a very dangerous position and, sadly or unsadly, it’s only consequential presidents that this happens to.” Trump—who has faced two assassination attempts in the past months and death threats from Iran—has also prompted confusion from some as he continues to make risky public appearances, like at a Georgia-Alabama college football game, even as he complains about inadequate security from the Secret Service (which he blamed on Democrats in a Truth Social post). Trump told Conway that the safety concerns mean he is on the right track. “I have a lot of enemies because I’m doing the right thing,” he said. “I want to make America great again, and that’s what we’re doing. We have more support, I think, than anybody’s ever had, and I think we’re going to have a great election.”
