I hear the term Boss Babe regularly on Netflix, social media, and even in personal discussions with friends. But what does it really mean, and why is it such a hot term to throw around these days? A Boss Babe recognizes her talents and abilities and is not afraid to take chances. Generally, a Boss Babe is a confident and independent leader who remains humble and has an entrepreneurial spirit. She realizes her success is not defined by anyone else and, therefore, has no need to be competitive or caddy. Instead, she supports and promotes her co-workers and friends.

A Boss Babe knows her self-worth. She has built confidence and is not afraid of ney-sayers. She has built a network of inspiring, supportive people she can count on. She has also created a brand that is widely recognized. She is savy with budget and marketing plans and knows how to sell herself.

A Boss Babe is not always an executive. Sometimes they are moms who have reached an expert level of juggling all the tasks and still enjoying life. A Boss Babe sets and maintains boundaries.

How to Be a Boss-Babe and Why it is an Attractive Quality for Women

    1. Master self-confidence to feel empowered and then can empower those around you.
    2. Take personal reponsibility. Admit both your strengths and weaknesses. A boss Babe takes chances, so inevitably, she will fall on her face occasionally and fail. Admitting our mistakes and sincerely apologizing is not easy, especially to arrogant people, but it is what holds us accountable and makes us dependable.
    3. Be an active listener. Listening with the intent to understand, being able to look at situations from all perspectives, and staying approachable are essential for a Boss Babe.
    4. Avoid comparing yourself to anyone else. When we ackowledge our unique gifts and talents, we realize there is room for everyone and no one can be you, but you.
    5. Say what you mean and mean what you say. We are only as good as our word.
    6. Be compassionate, kind, and respectful to everyone you encounter. It is imperative to realize at any level that we are not better than anyone else. Everyone does their best.
    7. Dress the part. Becoming a Boss Babe implies leveling up. Your wardrobe must speak volumes about who you are. A Boss Babe stays classy while being fashionable. This does not have to be costly; simply shop wise.

A Boss Babe Seeks a Mentor

A Boss Babe respects coaches and mentors who can help her get ahead. No one starts out knowing everything they need to succeed. It takes trial and error, along with great mentors.

I have been very fortunate to have several meaningful mentors. Dr. Mehmet Yildiz taught me how to navigate and become a successful online writer. Then I became friends with a successful retired writer who had started, run, and sold many companies. When he saw I was ready to level up and become a member of a new start up company, he asked if I was interested in any of his advice. I said absolutely and followed his suggestions, including good audio equipment for my upcoming online courses, a new wardrobe, and even a new desk.

    Final Thoughts

A Boss Babe reconizes her potential, but she remains humble and elegant. She is never bossy or disrespectful. This makes her attractive to men because she respects their masculinity and has no problem being equals.

It is not about buying a new wardrobe, desk, or equipment as much as it is about feeling yourself in your new role. When you feel powerful and successful, others respond to that energy. I certainly carry myself differently in an elegant dress than I did in yoga pants or jean shorts. There is no arguing about what a professional look is. I joke that I leveled up from the yoga mat to the board room. The truth is, I did. And you can, too.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this. You are amazing.

    Peace & Light,

    Libby
