DuSable Lake Shore Drive closures announced for second week of October

(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — The resurfacing of DuSable Lake Shore Drive (DLSD) on the North Side continues, and some northbound lanes will continue to be impacted.

The Chicago Department of Transportation (CDOT) has provided an update to their roadwork plan along DLSD, announcing both partial and full closures until overnight Thursday, Oct. 10.

The closures are part of CDOT’s over month-long resurfacing project.

CDOT urges drivers to plan ahead and allow for extra time in their trips. CDOT also asks drivers to look out for flaggers and construction signage when entering and approaching work zones.

Here is the roadwork schedule for the upcoming week:

Sunday, Oct. 6:
- At 5 p.m., ALL LANES of southbound DLSD will close between Irving Park Road and LaSalle Drive. Traffic will be diverted to Inner Lake Shore Drive, Sheridan Road and Cannon Drive.
- By 6 a.m. Monday, all lanes will reopen.

Monday, Oct. 7:
- At 7 p.m., southbound DLSD will be reduced to one lane between Irving Park Road and LaSalle Drive. Additionally, northbound and southbound DLSD will be reduced to one lane between Lawrence Avenue and Hollywood Avenue.
- At 9 p.m., ALL LANES of southbound DLSD will close between Irving Park Road and LaSalle Drive. Traffic will be diverted to Inner Lake Shore Drive, Sheridan Road and Cannon Drive.
- By 6 a.m. Tuesday, all lanes will reopen.

Tuesday, Oct. 8:
- At 7 p.m., southbound DLSD will be reduced to one lane between Irving Park Road and LaSalle Drive. Additionally, northbound and southbound DLSD will be reduced to one lane between Lawrence Avenue and Hollywood Avenue.
- At 9 p.m., ALL LANES of southbound DLSD will close between Irving Park Road and LaSalle Drive. Traffic will be diverted to Inner Lake Shore Drive, Sheridan Road and Cannon Drive.
-  By 6 a.m. Wednesday, all lanes will reopen.

Wednesday, Oct. 9:
- At 7 p.m., southbound DLSD will be reduced to one lane between Irving Park Road and LaSalle Drive. Additionally, northbound and southbound DLSD will be reduced to one lane between Lawrence Avenue and Hollywood Avenue.
- At 9 p.m., ALL LANES of southbound DLSD will close between Irving Park Road and LaSalle Drive. Traffic will be diverted to Inner Lake Shore Drive, Sheridan Road and Cannon Drive.
- By 6 a.m. Thursday, all lanes will reopen.

Thursday, Oct. 3:
- At 7 p.m., southbound DLSD will be reduced to one lane between Irving Park Road and LaSalle Drive. Additionally, northbound and southbound DLSD will be reduced to one lane between Lawrence Avenue and Hollywood Avenue.
- At 9 p.m., ALL LANES of southbound DLSD will close between Irving Park Road and LaSalle Drive. Traffic will be diverted to Inner Lake Shore Drive, Sheridan Road and Cannon Drive.
- By 6 a.m. Friday, all lanes will reopen.

CDOT says all work is scheduled to be done by late this month.
