Alabama's embarrassing loss to Vanderbilt raises unfavorable comparison between Kalen DeBoer & Nick Saban

The Alabama Crimson Tide lost to Vanderbilt in a jaw-dropping contest.

Before Saturday night's embarrassing, and downright shocking loss to the Commodores, the Tide hadn't lost to Vandy in exactly 40 years.

And while that is well before Nick Saban's time, the loss has many making a comparison between him and the Tide's current head coach that is far from favorable:

    Saban Vs. DeBoer

Before the game against the Commodores Nick Saban joined the Pat McAfee Show where he shared the following quote, one that is now going viral thanks what transpired in Nashville:

"The only place you play in the SEC that's not hard to play is Vanderbilt. When you play at Vanderbilt, you have more fans there than they have. That's no disrespect to them. That's just the truth."

After trailing at halftime 23-14, many expected the Tide to respond with intent, slowing down a Vandy offense that ran rough shot through the defense, and picking up the pace offensively while targeting star WR Ryan Williams.

Well, the latter occurred to a degree, but the Tide were stopped a few times, and that's it all took thanks to the defense being unable to slow down a runny nose.

The lack of adjustments raised questions among many in terms of DeBoer's fitness, but perhaps more concerning were some of the postgame actions , of which DeBoer had to address:

"Yeah, he was much better in the locker room," said DeBoer in a postgame presser when asked about Malachi Moore's antics at the end of the game. The guy pours everything into what he does. It doesn't make it ok because we have to be first class in everything we do. There are a lot of guys that are really frustrated. The key is that we turn those frustrations into positives moving forward and make sure we don't feel what we are feeling here tonight, and remember that feeling tomorrow, and Tuesday and Wednesday and all season long."

In fairness to DeBoer, he did try and warn his players of the trap that was coming , giving a response that Coach Saban would love when asked about being ranked #1 in the nation.

But actions speak louder than words, and the actions of the team in Crimson & White on Saturday were foreign to anyone who watched Alabama Crimson Tide football under HC Nick Saban.
